About the LAT

What is the LAT and who conducts it?

The Law Admission Test is conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan through its Education Testing Council for admission to five-year LLB programmes.

How many marks is the LAT and what is the pass mark?

The LAT has 100 marks: 75 MCQs, an essay of 15 marks and a personal statement of 10 marks. The pass mark is 50.

How many times a year is the LAT held?

HEC holds the LAT several times a year and announces each test separately; five tests were scheduled in 2026.

Who is eligible?

Students who have completed HSSC or an equivalent 12-year qualification, including those awaiting their result, according to HEC's announcements. See the eligibility page.

Registration

How do I register?

Online on the HEC ETC portal. The LAT registration guide lists every step.

How much is the official fee?

It is set by HEC and shown on your invoice. For 2026 it has been reported as Rs. 1,800.

When will I get my roll number slip?

HEC makes it available on the ETC portal and by email about a week before the test.

Is my progress saved?

How long does activation take?

Access is switched on after a person verifies your payment. Until then the order shows as Pending in your dashboard.

Are you part of HEC?

No. We are a private service and our fees are separate from HEC's.
