Local SEO: How Small Businesses Get Found on Google Maps
When someone searches for a service with a location — "computer academy near me" or "mobile repair in Faisalabad" — Google usually shows a map with three businesses before any website. Local SEO is the work of getting your business into that list.
Why it matters
People who search with a location are usually ready to call or visit. A business that appears on the map gets those calls; one that does not is invisible, even if its service is better.
Five steps to start
- Claim your Google Business Profile and verify it.
- Choose the right category and fill in every field: hours, services, photos.
- Keep your name, address and phone identical everywhere online.
- Ask real customers for reviews and reply to every review.
- Add a location page to your website that describes what you offer in that area.
What not to do
Do not buy fake reviews or add keywords to your business name. Both break Google's guidelines and can get your profile suspended.
